Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their client's team in Newark, California. This full-time, on-site position in Newark, CA, is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead daily manufacturing operations and ensure that production targets are met consistently.
Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Oversee daily operations across foam converting, corrugated converting, fabricating, and kitting lines.
- Assign labor, manage breaks, balance staffing levels, and adjust workforce allocation based on workload and priorities.
- Monitor production flow, identify bottlenecks, and take proactive action to maintain schedule adherence.
- Ensure accurate material handling of foam blocks, corrugated sheets, and kit components to minimize loss and mislabeling.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all operators follow work instructions, packaging specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Verify first-article inspections and in-process checks, including foam density, cut accuracy, corrugate strength, and kit configuration.
- Partner with Quality to resolve nonconformities, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support ISO 9001 or comparable quality system compliance.
Safety & Workplace Standards
- Enforce safety rules and procedures to support a zero-harm safety culture.
- Conduct incident reporting and follow-up investigations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production environment.
Leadership & People Management
- Conduct start-of-shift meetings covering safety topics, production goals, and customer priorities.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, onboarding, disciplinary support, and skill development planning.
- Manage interpersonal conflicts and oversee daily team performance.
Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Lead Gemba walks, 5S audits, and Lean continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor daily KPI performance, including OEE, scrap rate, throughput, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Maintain ERP system accuracy for production reporting, scrap tracking, labor hours, and completed work orders.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure machine uptime and preventive maintenance planning.
- Support new product introductions through team training, process validation, and engineering change implementation.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Proven experience building and maintaining a stable workforce.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems; auditing or implementation experience is a strong advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP preferred).
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Required Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 1st shift.

Additional Details
Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour.
